The Scientific Diet Selector plugin (all versions) relies on an API that can be called to query for best-matching diets, based on all the accumulated data points. The same API stores metadata about the queries, so site owners can in the future learn more about their sites — a sort of analytics solution on the backend.
These The Scientific Diet Selector API Terms of Service (the “API Terms”) describe your rights and responsibilities when accessing publicly available application programming interfaces (the “APIs”) and related API documentation. Please read them carefully. We are grateful you’re here.
Limitations on API use
Currently, the API can manage tens of thousands of queries per site per month. However, in case your site is massive in scale and you are sending thousands of queries during a short time window, the API may become congested. In such a case, we take no financial responsibility for the situation or losses to your potential revenue. As with anything, we do not offer a money-back guarantee. If this happens, please email us and we will do our best to remedy the situation immediately. Note that this is extremely unlikely, however, for most of our users as this would in practice require you to have a site with millions of daily visitors who are actively using the plugin.
Access to Our APIs
Our online API endpoints, at this time, are not to be used by any other software, free or non-free, than The Scientific Diet Selector -plugin available in the official WordPress plugin repository.
This means that you will have to negotiate access to it by contacting us.
If you are granted access to the API, you will not: (A) access our APIs or documentation in violation of any law or regulation; (B) access our APIs in any manner that (i) compromises, breaks or circumvents any of our technical processes or security measures associated with the Services, (ii) poses a security vulnerability to customers or users of the Services, or (iii) tests the vulnerability of our systems or networks; (C) access our APIs or documentation in order to replicate or compete with the Services; (D) attempt to reverse engineer or otherwise derive source code, trade secrets, or know-how of our APIs or Services; or (E) attempt to use our APIs in a manner that exceeds rate limits, or constitutes excessive or abusive usage.
